Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa: New Disney World Hotel Accepts Marriott Points
Got a bucket of Marriott Bonvoy points you want to use at Walt Disney World? Your hotel choices used to be limited to the Dolphin, Swan and Swan Reserve – Westin properties that belong to the Marriott brand. But a renovated Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa just opened in the Disney Springs section of Disney World and you can use your Marriott points or free night awards. It’s a great way to stretch your vacation budget. Here’s what you need to know about this new, on-property Disney World resort.
The Marriott Bonvoy Advantage
Disney classifies the Renaissance, a Marriott brand hotel, as a Deluxe resort. Comparable properties include the Boardwalk Inn, Grand Floridian and Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Room rates, depending on travel dates, can be atmospheric at these properties. The perk to booking the Renaissance is the ability to use accumulated Marriott Bonvoy points or, better still, free night awards.
I checked a midweek, 2-night stay in January 2025 for pricing. Nightly rates were as low as $211 for a two queen room. Alternatively, the point total quoted was 76,000 for the two-night stay.
For the same dates, the Walt Disney World Dolphin had room rates for a two double bed room for $1,151 per night or a 130,000 point redemption for the stay.
This puts a Deluxe on-property resort within reach of budget-conscious families.

Location, Location, Location
The Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa is just 13 miles from Orlando International Airport so it’s very convenient if you’re arriving by air. Driving to Disney World? The resort has paid self-park and valet options.
It’s located in the Disney Springs resort area, home to great restaurants, shops, attractions and shows. I think Disney Springs makes an ideal home base if you’re visiting Disney World without kids. Or if you’re traveling with teens who want a vacation that’s not 24/7 Mickey and friends.
Sophisticated Room Design
The $25 million renovation of the Renaissance includes new furnishings for the 394 guest rooms. The hotel design, by the NY-based hospitality firm Stonehill Taylor, takes its cues from Florida’s citrus groves. Sunny lemon, ocean blues and crisp whites are grounded by terracotta to create an inviting, modern atmosphere.
A variety of room types are available, including some with balconies. Ground level rooms flanking the pool with terraces give a Hawaiian resort vibe. Families have the flexibility to choose between sofa beds or bunks to accommodate the kiddos.
Renaissance Amenities
The large heated zero-entry pool and hot tub area at the resort has plenty of loungers and umbrellas. It’s a great place to hang out in the afternoons between visits to the Disney World parks. A 24/7 fitness center is available if you need to work off a few Dole Whips.
Treat yourself to a pedicure or facial at the Indulged Spa + Wellness Retreat. The Citrus Bliss massage features the scents of sage, honey and orange blossom.
There’s a game room on-property and kids’ activities too.
Dining Options
The resort’s main restaurant is its farm to table American Kitchen Bar & Grill. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Grab and go is available at The Grove Cafe and Brew. Light lunch and dinner fare with a Latin flair is available at the Agave Fresco pool bar.
Official Disney Hotel
Guests who book the Renaissance, an official Walt Disney World hotel, enjoy familiar perks including complimentary shuttle service to the Disney parks and early entry.
